SOLIDWORKS Composer Training
Technical illustrations, assembly instructions and animations from 3D CAD data
Description
Turn your 3D CAD data into clear, professional technical communication without waiting for design to be finished or redrawing a single line. This hands-on course teaches you how to use SOLIDWORKS Composer to produce assembly instructions, service and maintenance documentation, parts catalogues, training material and marketing visuals directly from your 3D models.
You’ll start with the Composer interface, navigation and terminology, then move quickly into creating cover and detail images, exploded views with explode lines, labels and callouts, and bills of materials with BOM IDs and tables. You’ll also learn to produce crisp vector graphics for print and technical manuals, and high-resolution marketing images using lights, textures and scenes.
The second half of the course brings your products to life through animation and interactivity. You’ll build explode and collapse animations on the timeline, create camera walkthroughs, add special effects and events, and use the Digger tool to reveal internal detail. You’ll also learn how to keep your deliverables current by updating Composer files when the CAD design changes, and how to manage larger documentation efforts using Composer projects.
Finally, you’ll publish your work in the formats your audience actually uses, including interactive PDF, HTML, linked SVG, and embedded content in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. Each lesson combines instructor-led demonstrations with practical exercises, so you’ll leave ready to create accurate, engaging documentation that stays in step with your engineering data.
